Congratulations to Promontory Pointe Swim Team!!

We’re thrilled to share some fantastic news about the Promontory Pointe Piranhas, our
neighborhood summer swim team, and their amazing accomplishments during the 2025 summer swim season! This spirited team is represented by four Promontory families, has truly made a splash under the incredible leadership of Coach Michael Rourke, who is also the head coach at Reagan High School for swim and water polo, and Valentina Serdan, a dedicated Promontory resident and beloved team affiliate for the past eight years. Their hard work, skill, and community spirit really shine through in everything the team has achieved this year.

The Piranhas had an undefeated run throughout the regular dual meet swim season, a huge testament to their dedication and teamwork. At the Lonestar Summer Swim League Championships, the team placed an impressive second overall—an incredibly close finish that demonstrates just how competitive and talented these swimmers are. The girls brought home 1st place in cumulative points, while the boys earned a strong 3rd place finish overall.

To top it all off, our Piranhas proudly took 1st place and earned the honor of displaying coveted league banners in several age divisions:

5-6 girls
9-10 boys
11-12 girls
15-18 girls

Adding to the excitement, three standout swimmers scored the highest points for their entire age division during the championship meet:

Emma Ogletree (5-6 girls)
Donovan Smith (11-12 boys)
Annie Bailey (11-12 girls)

These individual achievements highlight the incredible talent and competitive spirit nurtured within the team.

If you have children or know young residents between ages 5 and 18 looking for a fun, encouraging, and community-focused sport next summer, the Promontory Pointe Piranhas warmly invite you to join! Whether your swimmer is a seasoned competitor or just starting out, this is a wonderful opportunity to build skills, make new friends, and be a part of a supportive team environment. While no prior experience is necessary, it’s important that swimmers can comfortably swim across the pool unassisted to ensure everyone’s safety during practices and meets. For more details, practice schedules, registration info, and to follow the team’s progress, please visit the official team website at: https://promontory.swimtopia.com/

Congratulations once again to the Piranhas on their outstanding season! We can’t wait to see what the next swim season brings and are excited to welcome new members to our growing swim family. Let’s keep cheering on these amazing young athletes as they continue to make waves here in Promontory!

Warm regards,
The Promontory HOA Team

COP (Citizen on Patrol) – Keep Our Neighborhood SAFE!!

My name is Michael Neufeld, I live on Promontory Circle. We have been part of the Community since 2018. I have noticed a rise in crime in our community and surrounding ones. I feel it has gotten out of control. Most of you are fed up with the break ins , shootings, and vandalism. I am looking for Volunteers to join me as Citizens on Patrol(COP). We would be helping our community members by keeping and eye out for things and report them to the police. If you are willing to help, by giving a few hours of your time, please contact me we can make our community safer for all.

Pool OPEN – NEW WAIVER REQUIRED

The Promontory Pointe pool will open on the afternoon of March 7, 2025, after 4:00 PM.

A new waiver is required to access the recreational amenities for the 2025 pool season.  Starting Monday, March 17th any resident who has not completed the new waiver will have their cards deactivated until the new waiver has been received. This deactivation will affect both the pool area and the basketball court since the cards are tied to both areas.

A new waiver can be completed and emailed back to the Diamond Association Management and Consulting, the property manager at accesscontrol@damctx.com at the link provided.

Click here to open the pool waiver – 2025 Pool/Recreation Waiver

If you have questions, you can call Diamond Association Management and Consulting at 210-561-0606 and ask for ext. 32.

The form must be completed by the homeowner on the account for the card to be activated.

Tenants can complete the waiver, but a current copy of the lease will need to be included for the card to be activated.

Neighborhood Mail Box Theft

Mailbox theft continues to be an issue in our area and San Antonio at large.  At the moment the simplest way to protect yourself is to empty your mailbox daily and never put outgoing mail in the box overnight.
If you see suspicious activity but do not think it merits a 911 call, you can call the SAPD non-emergency number 210-207-SAPD.  If you discover a break in, please contact SAPD and file a report.  Also notify the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) at 1-800-275-8777.  You can also file a complaint with the Unites States Postal Inspection Service at 1-877-876-2455 or visit their website at www.uspis.gov.
As reminder the mailboxes are property of the USPS and not the HOA.

Thank you

Little Free Library

One of our local boy scouts installed a Little Free Library for our community in the Park area close to the corner of Bear Ridge and Promontory Circle.  This is a wonderful addition to our community and will be maintained by one of our fantastic Wilderness Oak Teachers and PPHOA residents.  Feel free to use the books and/or donate ones you’ve already read for others to use.  To read more about the Little Free Library Program, click HERE.

Parking in PPHOA

The Board and Management of Promontory Pointe HOA receives continued complaints in relation to parking issues. The most common complaint pertains to residents not utilizing their private driveway to park their vehicles on a daily basis. For the safety of your property, law enforcement strongly encourages residents to park in their private driveway or garage, all though it is not illegal to park on neighborhood streets per Covenants and State and Local Law (in most cases).

Additional complaints include parking in the street across from a neighbor’s driveway, parking in a driveway in a manner that blocks the sidewalk, parking in front of the cluster mailboxes, parking in front of another homeowners property, parking too close to an intersection or stop sign, parked facing the wrong direction (into traffic), and parking that prohibits the safe movement of traffic, such as along a curve creating a blind spot. Although not all of these parking habits are illegal, they can contribute to an unsafe environment in the neighborhood.  We strongly encourage all residents to be mindful and courteous of each other in relation to where you chose to park your vehicle.

In addition, most streets in PPHOA are wide enough to accommodate a vehicle or vehicles parking on one side of the street, however, the problem occurs when vehicles are parked on both sides of the street, which causes impeded sight lines and makes movement of vehicles slow and difficult. It also can inhibit the safe movement of fire trucks, ambulances, law enforcement vehicles, school buses, U.S. Mail and utility vehicles. Additionally, it causes an unsafe environment for pedestrians to move freely around their neighborhood, especially small children.

Parking According to the Covenants
The Promontory Pointe HOA Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (DCCR’s) addresses storage of boats, trailers, and other vehicles and equipment in Article X, Section 10 (page 28). Please refer to your copy or the copy available on our website for details. Most parking violations are not addressed in the DCCR’s because they are specific State of Texas Parking Laws. Violations of the Covenants on private HOA property, including common areas and streets within the gated areas, are subject to fines by the Association.

Specific Texas Parking Laws
Texas parking laws are listed under the state’s Transportation Code Section 545.301. All violations of traffic laws can be enforced by law enforcement, and if your vehicle is deemed to be a traffic hazard or violates traffic laws, it can be ticketed or moved at the owner’s expense.  Here is a summary:

Section 545.302 Stopping, Standing, or Parking Prohibited in Certain Places.
a) An operator may not stop, stand, or park a vehicle: 
1. On a sidewalk; 
2. In an intersection; 
3. On a crosswalk; 
4. Between safety zone and the adjacent curb or within 30 feet on the curb opposite of the safety zone; 
5. Where an official sign prohibits stopping or other Texas parking law prohibits parking.

b) An operator may not, except momentarily to pick up or discharge a passenger, stand or park an occupied or unoccupied vehicle: 
1. In front of a public or private driveway; 
2. Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant; 
3. Within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection; 
4. Within 30 feet of a flashing signal, stop sign, yield sign, or traffic-control signal located at the side of the roadway; 
5. Where an official sign prohibits standing or other Texas parking law prohibits parking.

Section 545.303 Additional Parking Regulations
A vehicle must be parked parallel to a curb and be parked within 18 inches of the curb.

For all Texas State Law parking violations, contact: SAPD non emergency (210-207-7273) or City Services at 311.

For all Covenant related parking violations, contact: Our manager at Diamond Management Association & Consulting, 210-561-0606 or manager@promontoryhoa.org.
